Kotinos (Olive wreath)

Greek Culture

Story: Kotinos as the prize of the ancient Olympic Games for the winners had to be made with olive twigs. Kotinos (a universal symbol of peace and freedom) was chosen to be the emblem of the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, where the ancient tradition of delivering a kotinos to the winners was revived.
