“Green Opportunity – Re-design the Future” (Project Code: 2023-3-BG01-KA210-YOU-000180593) is an 18-month EU-funded project under the Erasmus+ program, focusing on environmental sustainability, the principles of the circular economy and youth engagement in climate action. Through international collaboration between Bulgaria, Croatia and Greece, the project aims to educate, inspire and empower young people to rethink current production and consumption models. It encourages youth to integrate sustainable practices into their daily lives, businesses and local communities while fostering cooperation between natural ecosystems and human activities.
Objectives
The project is designed to address the growing need for sustainability-focused education and action. Its key objectives include:
- Raising Awareness on Circular Economy:
- Educate young people about the environmental and economic benefits of circular economy principles.
- Promote sustainable resource management to reduce waste and encourage recycling, upcycling and repurposing.
- Encouraging Active Engagement in Sustainability:
- Inspire youth to take action and integrate sustainability into their lifestyles, businesses and communities.
- Provide tools and knowledge to help them become change-makers in the fight against climate change.
- Fostering Cross-Border Cooperation & Cultural Exchange:
- Unite participants from Bulgaria, Croatia, and Greece to collaborate on sustainability initiatives.
- Promote intercultural learning, dialogue and cooperation for a greener future.
- Developing Skills for Green Innovation:
- Equip young people with practical skills for sustainable production, consumption and business innovation.
- Support entrepreneurship in eco-friendly industries and encourage creative solutions for environmental challenges.
- Engaging Stakeholders & Promoting Policy Change:
- Involve local communities, businesses and policymakers in sustainability discussions.
- Advocate for circular economy principles at the regional and European levels.
Target Groups
The project primarily targets:
- Young people (aged 15-30) interested in environmental sustainability and social innovation.
- Youth organizations, educators and trainers working in climate action and sustainable development.
- Local businesses, startups and policymakers looking to adopt circular economy practices.
Expected Outcomes & Impact
By the end of the project, Green Opportunity – Re-design the Future aims to:
