The GREENLIGHT (Generating Renewable Energy Education Network – Leading Initiatives for Green & Harmonious Tomorrows 2023-2-TR01-KA220-SCH-000180691) project is an EU-funded initiative under the Erasmus+ program aimed at addressing the critical global challenge of sustainable energy production and consumption. With the world still largely dependent on fossil fuels, the need to transition towards renewable energy sources is more urgent than ever. This project is designed to educate, raise awareness, and empower young people, educators, and communities to embrace renewable energy solutions as part of a sustainable future.
The project brings together partners from Turkey, North Macedonia, Portugal and Greece, leveraging their expertise and commitment to sustainability to create an impactful educational network on renewable energy. By increasing energy literacy, promoting STEM learning and developing innovative teaching methods, GREENLIGHT strives to equip young people with the knowledge and skills needed to drive the green transition.
Target Groups
The GREENLIGHT project primarily focuses on:
- Students & Young People: Enhancing their understanding of renewable energy and sustainable practices.
- Educators & Teachers: Equipping them with tools to teach energy-related topics effectively.
- Educational Institutions: Encouraging the adoption of renewable energy education in curricula.
- Local Communities & Policymakers: Promoting dialogue on sustainable energy policies and practices.
Planned Activities
To achieve its objectives, GREENLIGHT will implement a range of interactive and educational activities, including:
1. Training Programs & Workshops
- Hands-on workshops on renewable energy technologies.
- Capacity-building sessions for educators on innovative teaching methodologies.
2. Renewable Energy Awareness Campaigns
- Public events and media campaigns to inform communities about energy sustainability.
- School-led projects showcasing renewable energy applications.
3. STEM-Based Learning Modules
- Developing interactive learning modules on energy efficiency, smart grids, and renewable energy.
- Engaging students in project-based learning experiences.
4. Educational Exchange & Study Visits

Expected Outcomes & Impact
By the end of the project, GREENLIGHT aims to:
